Sherwood Rahming is above the gimmicks…and fairly so.
Boasting an impressive resume that includes music production, sound engineering and videography, this 22-year-old is wise beyond his years. Describing his sound as “mature,” Sherwood creates lyrics and melodies that transport the listener to a world of his creation.
eLIFE242 caught up with this budding musician recently to chop it up about his latest work and what’s up next.
“I don’t know what to do with my life, but music,” he says, never taking his eyes off the mixing board.
His album, “Sherrí,” is an exploration of love and loss. It’s coherent and passionate from beginning to end and aims to teach us how to “love properly.” It’s fitting then, that his EP release concert is set for Valentine’s Day (Feb 14th).
“I don’t really attach significance to dates but people do,” he adds. “I just thought it would make sense since I’m releasing a love themed project. It’s my personal perspective on what relationships have taught me; self love, unconditional love, to love people in a much greater way. This (Valentine’s Day concert) isn’t for me, it’s for the people.”
The concert will go down at the Bistro Underground, on the corner of East and Bay Street, this out of the box event is equally perfect for lovers, friends and lone wolves.
