BAHAMIANS LIVE FOR A GOOD FESTIVAL!
Where food, music, people and drinks flow all night long! And for the third straight year, Festival Rum Bahamas did not disappoint! The people came out in droves for the three-day event that brought out pirates, a real life mermaid, contortionists, stilt walkers, spiders, fire dancers…but more importantly, rum, food and culture.
Fort Charlotte was again transformed into a scene from any one of our favorite pirate movies and zapped us back in time to our rum running days. And boy, was the rum flowing! There were booths set up just for food and then there were booths set up just for rum and I’d dare say they were the more popular spots! The festival’s house rum The Dirty Mule was in heavy rotation all weekend as the ginger, goat pepper and brown sugar concoction got everyone’s buzz going.
Rum glazed duck spicy curry mutton, chicken in waffle cones, lobster fritters and jerk pork…
And this was just the tip of the menu, but the food was amazing! The music and entertainment? Even better!
Ronnie Butler, Elon Moxey, The Ancient Man, Visage, The Mighty Pencil, Metellus Chipman and his dancers, the Limbo King, drummers and of course junkanoo! If you missed this year’s event, don’t miss the next one!
