Landlord Nominated for Int’l TV Show Awards

Bahamian television personality and reggae artist, Orlando “Landlord” Miller continues to ink The Bahamas brand on the international scene, having catapulted to the second round of the Prayze Factor People’s Choice Awards nominations for his hit show, Positive TV.

Nominated for TV Host of the Year, TV Show of the Year and Promoter of the Year, Landlord is humbled to be recognized once more for his work in the entertainment industry at an international level, having won the Trailblazer Award at the show last year.

“To tell you the truth, I feel truly honoured to be nominated. I didn’t even know until I got the e-mail. It feels really good to be appreciated abroad. That shows that people are watching you and they see your hard work. It makes you feel valuable that you’re not just working in vain. You’re making an impact on somebody’s life,” he beamed.

Positive TV is aired on nine televisions networks worldwide including Tempo, Caribvision, ZNS, Our TV, Channel 44 which has a viewership of over 80 million, Cable 12, All Nations TV and also Impact TV, which reaches into over 75 million homes worldwide.

The show is broadcast all over Africa, South America, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia and 22 Caribbean islands.

“Until you have been there, you won’t know how other people feel. I know how it is trying to push yourself and many times you get a door shut in your face. God has been opening many doors for me and has given me favour. It’s not really for me but for others,” Landlord exhorted.

“I always remember what Pastor Myles ( Munroe) said. He said that for many years, the first world fed the third world with music, economics and brilliance. But there is a time that is coming where the third world shall feed the first world he said. This is the time now. Music shall come from out of the third world that people from the first world will be feeding off us – just like how we were feeding off them for many years. God is making that link, building those bridges and I am excited to be a part of this movement.”

Positive TV, which was launched three years ago, not only sets the stage for local independent artists but features the grandeur and allure of Bahamian historical sites and tourist attractions – promoting The Bahamas on an international level.

“We highlight anything clean and positive… sending out positive vibes; because I do have popular secular artists like Richie Spice, Wayne Wonder, Christopher Martin and many more open up by endorsing the show with positive music,” Landlord commented.

The awards show will be held in late September in Atlanta, Georgia.

Apart from the success Landlord has achieved in television, he still found time to tap back into his roots as a reggae artist, having released a new single “ I’m Still Worshipping”, featuring two news covers: Way Maker (originally recorded by Sinach) and I Give Myself Away ( originally recorded by William McDowell).

Both tracks are rich with Landlord’s signature pristine and shrilling vocals that leave goosebumps everywhere. It is worship that’s for real and worship that you can feel… His cover of these songs reveals that although he can celebrate his many accomplishments in other genres of entertainment, his heart lives in the worship.

“Almost everywhere I go, people stop me on the street and ask, ‘ Landlord, you stop singing eh?’ and this is to let people know that I have always been known for worshipping. I have done Lamb of God… I can do culture and many other stuff but worship is my thing. I just have to remind them that I am still here. I am still here worshipping because the worship don’t stop. It’s me,” he said.

“I’m Still Worshipping” is available on CD Baby and all other digital outlets.

A 3-time Caribbean Gospel Marlin Award winner, Landlord, who co-hosts the Bobby Jones Show on Impact TV, recently signed and partnered with Round the Clock Entertainment owned by Carlton McConnell to launch the new music video programme, CAAG ( Caribbean African American Gospel Hits Show). With an audience of around 200 million people, their aim is to help launch independent artists from all over the world.

To date, Landlord has interviewed gospel greats such as Dietrick Haddon, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Fred Hammond, Tamela Mann, Bebe and Cece Winans, Tasha Cobbs-Leonard and many others.
