Aura Amore’ Swimwear

Once upon a time there was a little girl; of about five or six years old, whose mother bought her a play sewing machine. She played and played and sewed, but the little girl eventually grew up and bought herself a real sewing machine. One day she needed a beautiful top to wear out to dinner on Valentine’s Day. None of the tops in all the land were what she wanted, so instead of buying a top; she decided to make one herself. She imagined the design while cutting the fabric freely and made a gorgeously golden top, better than any in the mall. And the story continues…

Recently, I had the pleasure of speaking with Ms. Fabulosity herself, Nicki Hastings, C.E.O. of Aura Amore Swimwear. I definitely had a couple questions for her since I adore her pieces; because, like she said, “Every girl owns at least one swimsuit.” Well, first I wanted to know why she chose that name: Aura (which means having pervasive, quality) Amore (the Italian word for Love), and when they both come together, Aura Amore simply means “fashfab!”

Fashfab/fash-fab/ (adjective): Fashionably Fabulous; Confident, Seductive
ORIGIN: Nicki Hastings

The message she tries to put across with her exquisite swimsuit line is that it’s okay for ladies to be sexy and sophisticated at the same time, to flaunt it in a fashionable way. Confidence is definitely the key to strutting your stuff in an Aura Amore piece. And there’s nothing better than doing your runway walk in something which is not only fierce but affordable; it’s like finding a diamond in a pile of stones. Aura Amore has infiltrated the runways of The Bahamas (Fashion Week and Kinesis) with quality and affordable swimwear. Ms. Hastings is a naturally gifted seamstress, who has never drawn a sketch, opting instead to cut “free hand.” With this much talent and her very own keen sense of style, it is no wonder she credits Kimora Lee Simmons as her icon. She has accomplished all of this in just one year at the age of 21 so her advice for others is simple: “The Sky Is The Limit.” And it definitely is.
